elementary students play basketball as the sun sets

Basketball

(Grades 3–5; Co-Ed)

Dribble, shoot, and shine on the court!
In basketball, students will learn essential skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and team strategy. Players will grow their game in a fun and supportive environment before representing HTES in a round-robin tournament at CSHS, competing against DWES and BMES.

Volleyball

(Grades 3–5; Co-Ed)

Bump, set, and serve with Stallion pride!
Our volleyball program teaches foundational skills including serving, passing, teamwork, and movement on the court. Students will develop confidence through fun drills and game play. The season culminates in a round-robin tournament at Cactus Shadows High School (CSHS) where our Stallions will compete against Desert Willow (DWES) and Black Mountain (BMES).

Spring Surprise Activity!

(Grades 1–5; Co-Ed)

One more chance to get moving!
In the spring semester, HTES will offer an additional athletic activity for students in grades 1–5 — based on student interest! Whether it’s soccer, kickball, or a new sport entirely, this bonus program will be full of fun, movement, and Stallion spirit.

Cross Country runners lining up at the starting line

Cross Country

(Grades 1-5; Co-Ed)

Run strong like a Stallion!
Cross Country is all about building endurance, setting goals, and pushing through challenges. Students in grades 3–5 will compete in two district meets at CSHS against DWES and BMES. Our grades 1–2 runners will have their own meet designed just for younger athletes — a fun introduction to competition and personal achievement!

Morning Milers

(Grades 1–5; Co-Ed)

Start the day the Stallion way!
Morning Milers gives students the chance to begin the school day with positive energy and movement. Students participate in group stretching, running or walking laps, and fun fitness games that wake up the body and mind. This program promotes healthy habits, encourages goal setting, and builds a strong sense of community — all before the first bell!

Track & Field

(Grades 3–5; Co-Ed)

Race, jump, and throw with confidence!
Track & Field introduces students to a variety of events including sprinting, relays, long jump, and more. This program focuses on skill development, sportsmanship, and personal growth. The season ends with a district meet at CSHS, where Stallions will compete alongside DWES and BMES in a celebration of athletic achievement.

At HTES, we’re proud to offer a variety of co-ed athletic programs that support student well-being, foster a love for physical activity, and build the character of future leaders.
Let’s go, Stallions!
